Housed in a 1903 Edwardian, the Inn's decor is a blend of handcrafted bentwood willow furnishings, antique dressers, armoires, and cozy comforters. We're ideally situated at the crossroads to San Francisco's efficient transportation system. The subway will whisk you downtown in 10 minutes, while the streetcars, buses and the antique trolley service can take you to any other point in the city. Golden Gate Park, the Bridge, Union Square shopping, Fisherman's Wharf, and Baker Beach (San Francisco's nude beach) -- all of San Francisco is easily accessible. The Castro neighborhood itself offers a wide range of restaurants and cafes, specialty and second hand shops, gyms, bars, and a vintage '30's movie palace. Within a few blocks are the '60's influenced Haight-Ashbury (gateway to Golden Gate Park), Noe Valley (an artistic neighborhood with interesting shops, cafes, restaurants and residences), the Spanish settled Mission (with a growing number of highly acclaimed restaurants and clubs), and Civic Center (where you'll find the Opera, Symphony Hall, the Asian Art Museum and City Hall).
Each morning we serve an expanded continental breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, yogurt, oven-baked goods, gourmet coffee, assorted teas, and fresh orange juice along with the morning newspaper. To help plan your day's activities our innkeepers are always available with helpful suggestions and directions, and can assist with choices of restaurants, nightclubs, entertainment and more. While you're out and about, rooms are neatened and cleaned. Then, at the end of the day, while you make dinner and evening plans, we invite you to join the innkeeper and other guests for a complimentary cocktail in our sitting room. As a European-style, shared bath inn, each of our rooms contains a private vanity sink as well as Kimono bathrobes, fine soaps, and shampoo. Eight individual water closets and shower rooms are conveniently distributed throughout the inn. Each is a self-contained unit for full privacy, although you may be tempted to share a shower under the open sky, among trailing plants. Room amenities include a direct dial telephone, voicemail, mini-fridge, TV & VCR and wireless internet. All rooms have individually controlled heat. Come visit gay San Francisco, and stay with us at the gay owned and operated Willows Inn Bed & Breakfast.
