The White House is a Victorian mansion in Southern Vermont, offering elegant, comfortable accommodations close to the Mount Snow Resort.

The Inn sits on the top of a high, rolling hill, nestled among towering hardwoods and beautiful formal flower gardens. Both the New York Times and the Boston Herald have named the White House Inn as "one of the ten most romantic places in the world."

The White House Inn has a great reputation for offering superior Southern Vermont accommodations and fine meals in its onsite restaurant. The restaurant offers 3 intimate dining rooms in a Victorian style, where you can enjoy an evening of award-winning gourmet meals.

We have a very creative reinvention of classic Continental dishes, a wide selection of appetizers and entrees, all carefully prepared to please the most demanding palate.

The White House Inn was originally built as a summer home in 1915 for Martin Brown, a local lumber baron. This beautiful mansion boasts fourteen fireplaces, fine French doors, and 2 storied terraces held up by tall columns.

Spend a little time on our four-season patio lounge, where you can watch the sunset over our west lawn. The porch is filled with windows for a sunny, tropical feeling, even during wintertime, when we keep it warm with a wood stove.

The Inn has sixteen guestrooms, each with a private bathroom and antiques that suit this New England country hostelry. Because of our place high on a hill, each room has a nice view.

9 of these rooms have fireplaces, 6 come with balconies, and 4 include large whirlpool tubs.

On the ground floor, you'll find our refreshing spa, with a sauna, and a small, indoor heated swimming pool.

The Wilmington area has many great things to do and see, including two championship golf courses, great hiking trails and mountain biking in the summertime at Mount Snow, fly fishing on the Deerfield River, swimming and wave-runner rentals on Lake Whitingham, or and great shopping in downtown Wilmington. And of course, great skiing at Mount Snow in the winter.
