Wendys Country Lodge is a South African nature lover's delight - surrounded by lots of birds, and just twenty minutes from South African craft markets, beautiful beaches, world-famous game reserves, and South Africa's first world heritage site - The Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park.

Wendy's provides a warm welcome and great service to each of our guests. The lodge sits in a beautiful tropical garden, and is built in the old colonial style. Each of our guest rooms offers luxury ensuite accommodations, and there's also a guest lounge where visitors can relax and mingle.

Our home is filled with historical collectables, antiques, rare orchids and a delightful, warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Each of our guestrooms has twin or double beds, as well as a shower and bath tub. For your comfort, our rooms also offer a/c and ceiling fans to keep you cool on a warm day. Two of our rooms have private patios, and all have garden views. We also provide our guests with fresh flowers in each room.

If you're planning your honeymoon with your partner, request our charming honeymoon suite. We also have a larger cottage that can sleep up to five guests.

Wendy's Country Lodge is In Riverview, a suburb to Mtubatuba, and is set amoung 4,000 square meters of tropical gardens next to the Umfolozi Country Club, where you'll find golfing, tennis, squash, bowls and a great restaurant.

Mtubatuba is a small town several hundred kilometers north of Durban, originallt built as a rail town in 1903. In 1916, the town's first sugar mill was built, along with a single shop, bank and hotel.

Today, Mtubatuba is the commercial and administrative heart of the entire North Eastern Zululand region.

Mtubatuba is the perfect place from which to explore South Africa's Zulu culture, the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve and the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. In town, a shopping tour to Mtubatuba with a visit to the local taxi rank will give you some insight into a small, modern Zulu town

St. Lucia Village, just 25 kilometers east of Mtubatuba between the St. Lucia Estuary and the Indian Ocean. is a cute tourist town with lovely beaches, great fishing, a vegetable and craft market, and Boat Cruises on the St. Lucia Estuary. Just north of St. Lucia, you'll find the Crocodile Centre, with a Snake Park, Cycad Garden and a Curio Shop, as well as some short hiking trails.
