Hotel Villa Decary Bed & Breakfast overlooks the beautiful, pristine Lake Arenal and Costa Rica's Tilaran mountains. Costa Rica's Lake Arenal region is a remote, uncrowded area of Costa Rica - at 1,800 feet in elevation, the area boasts a unique temperate climate, with cool nights and warm days.
The property is surrounded by a middle-elevation tropical rainforest, including lush plant life, a rainbow of butterflies, over two hundred and fifty bird species. You'll also find troupes of shy howler monkies.
Hotel Villa Decary is American owned and operated, and is a relaxing and affordable escape on a lush Costa Rica hillside, surrounded by a botanical garden of exotic tropical plants and palm trees. We're close to the small Tico town of Nuevo Arenal, and just fourteen miles from the active Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs.
Each of our oversized rooms has a private entry ensuite tiled bathroom with shower, built to American standards. Our guest rooms are colorfully decorated with stunning fabrics from Guatemala and local art made by the Chorotega Indians, which complements the workmanship of local Costa Rican artisans who have made our fine wooden doors and furnitures.
We also offer 3 separate casitas, each with a kitchen, perfect for families, bird-watchers, larger groups and honeymooning couples. Each room also has a private balcony and wonderful views overlooking Lake Arenal, the rainforest and the mountains.
The Hotel Villa Decary is a Costa Rican bed and breakfast hotel, and we offer fantastic, relaxed breakfasts which our prior guests often rave about.
The property has some quiet walking trails where you can view our large collection of tropical plants and get assimilated to the rainforest environment. There's also lts of local wildlife, including nesting turkeys, Red-Eyed Tree Frogs, the elusive White-collared Manakin or the distinctive Yellow-throated Euphonia. We have binoculars and Costa Rican birding books available for guest use.
