The Van Schaack House was originally built over 220 years ago, and is believed to have been the original law school in New York state. This beautiful mansion combines the elegance and charm of its time with modern conveniences.
Our Hudson Valley bed and breakfast is in the heart of beautiful Columbia County, between the village of Hudson and the city of Albany. You'll find great nightlife, sporting activities, antiquing, theater and ballet close by. We're also close to the Tanglewood, Saratoga, and Rhinebeck.
The Van Schaack House B&B has had many well-known visitors, including Washington Irving, Gouverneur Morris, Aaron Burr, Martin Van Buren, and many others.
We offer 4 guest rooms, each funished with period pieces, beautiful gardens, a gym on the property, a computer room for guest use, and a library where you can find a book to enjoy in your room our under the sunshine in our manicured grounds.
