Springdale has several great restaurants, an outdoor theatre, an Imax and many 'rock' and art galleries all combining to make a multiple-night stay here very enjoyable. Bryce National Park, The Grand Canyon North Rim, and Lake Powell are all within 2 1/2 hours drive, and make great day trips. Started in 1931 by local pioneer Herbert Christiansen, our bed & breakfast, over 70 years later, has a wonderful warm atmosphere with antiques, many books and fireplaces to enjoy. The house is also surrounded by beautiful gardens and lovely shade trees, especially at the back where the terraced gardens are filled with colorful local plants, we encourage those planning a small wedding to think about using our house and garden facilities or perhaps even doing a whole house rental. Our accommodation ranges from one of the best suites in Springdale to a more basic Hikers/Bikers/Climbers room. Being an old family house, every room has its own character and ambience. If you are looking for a 'hotel style' experience we are not for you! There are no TV's or phones in the rooms, however we do offer: serenity, charm and a lovely house and gardens for you to enjoy. Painting workshop facilities are also available, Deb will be pleased to discuss this with you. If you must bring a computer, we now have free high speed wireless. Our guests are encouraged to enjoy the view from "the best front porch in Utah" with stunning sunsets on the Watchman Mountain opposite in the early evening. Breakfast is the focal point of the morning, with early risers meeting on the front porch with fresh ground coffee, or a tea from wide range of choices or perhaps hot chocolate. Sunrise on Eagles Crag to the South rewards those who get up early enough! Also at breakfast you will have the opportunity to meet travelers from all over the world and perhaps exchange travel and hiking experiences. Your hosts Steve and Deb Masefield (locally known as painter Deb Durban) will endeavor to make all aspects of your stay enjoyable; originally from England, they have traveled to many parts of the world and have now settled in Springdale. As your hosts, Steve and Deb endeavor to offer "English Hospitality" at their b&b; they are here to share their knowledge of the area with you and are very happy to help you plan out your activities, offer recommendations on restaurants or other local places of interest, in fact anything you need to help make your stay in Zion / Utah memorable - we hope to provide a positive lodging experience. (Most special dietary requirements can be met if given notice.)
