Turning East Retreat is a clothing optional, gay owned retreat in the Big Island's Puna District. The retreat is set up like a tropical village, with Asian-inspired cottages.

Turning East Retreat has fantastic Pacific Ocean views, and is a short walk away from Kehena's clothing optional black sand beach.  Lower Puna is a beautiful, tropical part of the Island of Hawaii, with wonderful jungle flora.  You'll find stunning waterfalls, black sand beaches, snorkeling in Hawaii's turquoise blue water, active volcanoes, and amazing hiking.

Turning East Retreat about thirty miles south of Hilo, and eleven miles from the town of Pahoa in the Kehena Beach area - both have cute boutique shops and some great restaurants.  There's also a small store and drive in restaurant close by, in Kalapana.

If you want to swim, the gay-owned Kalani Oceanside Retreat is also nearby, and they offer a day use pass (for the pool, hot tubs, and sauna), as well as volleyball, yoga classes, and much more.  We can also provide Massage and Watsu on site for an additional charge.

We offer two guest rooms:

Ohe Lumi - with a queen-sized bed, its own bathroom and refrigerator.

Pake Lumi - Our Chinese-inspired guestroom, with a double mattress in an antique Chinese carved Wedding bed.  Room includes a private outside shower and shared bath.

We' also have an entertainment room for guest use, which has satellite TV, a DVD player, and a flatsceen TV. We also offer our kitchen for use for an additional fee.
