SECLUSION IN THE RICEFIELDS OF BALI
Welcome to the Swallow Guest House a new Balinese traditional style guest house perfect for writers, artists, or anyone looking for a longer term place to create and relax in the peace and quiet of Bali.
We're located just twenty minutes northeast of Ubud, the cultural and holistic health center of Bali. You'll enjoy gazing at Mt. Agung, the volcanic Mother mountain, farmers in their rice fields, and the ocean, which is about an hour away. Both sunrise and sunset are amazing from tour gazebo above the kitchen or from the many outdoor sitting areas scattered around the guesthouse and gardens.
We're close to a small village and market where you can meet the locals and enjoy their wonderful smiles. The people here are very giving and non-threatening, and love showing you their culture and sharing the ongoing ceremonies.
Wayan and Putri, your hosts, will make your stay at the Swallow Guesthouse memorable. Wayan, a 15 year experienced English speaking tour guide and driver, can help you with any vacation needs and questions. If you'd like to take an island tour for pleasure or business, he can help you plan all the details.
Putri is our Indonesian cook, and she can create some wonderful local dishes with fresh garden vegetables and local produce. Meals and housekeeping are offered for very reasonable rates. She can even give you cooking lessons while you're here in exchange for some English practice!
Swallow Guesthouse can accommodate six guests and offers two separate suites, the original "Sunrise Suite" and the larger two bedroom "Sunset Suite" suitable for families. Both suites come fully furnished with separate western style bathrooms with hot showers. Guests will enjoy our luxurious Queen-size beds with mosquito nets (although there are very few bugs here due to the swallows, ducks and dragon flies in the fields oh, and our fish in the pond).
There's a telephone, DVD Player/Television, locking cabinets, refrigerator, electric fan (its cool in the evenings as its higher altitude than the beach and near-by Ubud), writing table and chairs. We even have high-speed Internet access.
Our favorite lookout on the property is the tall Gazebo or "Bale" in Balinese. It sits above the shared separated exterior kitchen which is fully equipped with cooking facilities if you want to cook on your own.
If you're looking for the perfect relaxing Bali escape, come stay with us at the Swallow Guesthouse!
