REMINISCENT OF AN ADULT TREE HOUSE
A Stone Wall Inn Bed & Breakfast is your gay and lesbian destination in Southern Vermont's Green Mountains. The bed and breakfast was designed by an award-winning architect to combine the coziness of traditional inns with the dynamics of the new century.
The inn is also Vermont's most Green Inn, is solar heated, uses local and recycled materials, and is gay owned and managed.
The smaller building, the Corner House has 4 guestrooms and a sauna. The Long House has 6 guestrooms, manager's quarters, lounge, and spa room with sauna, hot tub and outdoor dipping pool. This inn of design excellence is surrounded by acres of extensive gardens, ponds, meadows, and woods, and in the heart of Southern Vermont's famous resort area, full of recreational opportunities, sightseeing, shopping, fine dining, and perpetual vistas.
In warm weather, after returning from an adventure, sauna and relax on the deck while picking one of the fabulous restaurants for dinner, and which of the 3 nearby summer stock theatres to attend. Lesser-known daytime exploits are a tour of the local cheese factory, a sing-along service at the Weston Priory, or a visit to the studios of the many craftspeople and artists in the area. A mile up the hill, play golf or tennis at the public country club.
Winter blesses us with lots of snow for our own snow-shoeing trails; if you have never tried it, let us teach you. Of course, you have your choice of many ski and cross-country ski areas. But also, try a nighttime sleigh ride in Londonderry.
The many special touches in decor and service will make your stay memorable. You may feel that our inn is as close to being a private club as possible while being open to all who wish to experience it.
This is a place to get away from the fast lane, to enjoy the pristine nature of Vermont, with its many facets and diverse experiences. Unlike any other Vermont Inns, the design of the buildings and landscapes is sensitive to the needs of its guests and to its environment
The architecture unites the charm, intricacy of detail, and history of 19th and 20th century houses with the spatial invention, materiality, and technological possibilities of the 21th century.
The gardens are sumptuous with new additions of bold design, connecting meadows, secret paths, a white moon garden, and woodland treks on a 16 acre south-facing slope. This is the perfect outdoor setting for a Summer or Fall event.
