The bed and breakfast features 10 guest accommodations, all with private bathroom, most featuring a Queen size bed, some with King, Double or Twin options. Named for the beautiful "stone hearth" in the guest sitting room/library, fall and winter travelers enjoy unwinding with a cocktail from the Inns Pub in front of the warm fireplace. Spacious guest areas offer a Hot Tub, Pool Table and other recreational activities, including an Outdoor Patio. Our casual Inn features spacious common areas for guests to unwind, kick back and relax! Upon arrival, join us in the Playhouse Pub for a cocktail, hot coffee, conversation - or a casual bite to eat. After a day on the slopes or in the country, return to the Inn and enjoy a soak in our two-person semi-private Hot Tub! Afterwards, relax by the "Stone Hearth" fireplace, play a game of pool, read a book, or enjoy a libation in the pub. For weekend visitors, enjoy a relaxing dinner served in our guest dining room on Friday & Saturday evenings. Then join us for southern Vermont's newest entertainment venue in the Playhouse Pub! Not up for music or dancing? Don't worry - there are no rooms in the vicinity of the old barn. Feel free to catch a movie in our TV Room (complete with Cable TV), sink back on the SOFA with your favorite book, or play a simple game of checkers (simple for some). Hours and offerings are seasonal, so be sure to verify services during your planned visit. History is what will make your stay at the Stone Hearth Inn a memorable one! Constructed circa 1810, this Federal Style Home with connected barn was first converted to an Inn around 1940. The Inn features many of the original details including wide board pine floors, original fireplaces, and exposed beams reminiscent of its' days as a Federal-Style Farmhouse. Set on nearly 6 acres in the Vermont countryside, the Inn provides the perfect backdrop for any size event, especially Civil Unions and Retreats. Local and popular attractions include the nearby Weston Playhouse, Vermont Country Store, several area artists galleries, antique shops, unique retail shops, casual and fine dining, hiking, biking, lakes, horseback riding, and of course skiing. Several area golf courses are nearby as well. Visitors often enjoy taking an old steam train ride on the Green Mountain Flyer, between Chester Depot and Bellows Falls. We're centrally located midway between the popular destinations of Woodstock and Manchester, and a short drive to Ludlow, Springfield, Saxtons River, Rockingham or Grafton. Many annual events are offered in Chester. We look forward to serving you on your next escape to the Green Mountains of Vermont! Thank you! --Chris Clay
