Shangri-La Vacation Rentals is a twenty-two acre licensed private fishing preserve located in the Town of Duane, County of Franklin, State of New York, in the Adirondack Mountains. It is approximately forty-five minutes by car from Lake Placid, thirty minutes from Saranac Lake, and ninety minutes from Montreal. The property is bordered on three sides by New York State "Forever Wild" forest land.

Every season at Shangri-La Cabins is beautiful. Wildlife abounds. In early October, the first Canadian Geese arrive on their southbound route. In autumn the leaves of the hardwood trees turn brilliant gold, yellow, auburn, russet and crimson. In winter icecycles glisen on the eves, and the forest becomes a wonderland.

The several ponds of Shangri-La are stocked with salmon and trout. Guests of Shangri-La may canoe, boat and fish on the designated two and one-half acre pond. Guests are permitted to fish in this pond without a permit, and may catch a reasonable number of salmon or trout per day for personal use or consumption.

Shangri-La in the Adirondacks is the perfect vacation spot for everyone to enjoy. The Shangri-La environment is ideal for gathering with friends and family. Whether it's outdoor activity you're after, animal or bird-watching, a retreat, or simply relaxation, make Shangri-La your vacation destination.

Three cozy cabins are fully furnished and are decorated in the rustic tradition of the Adirondacks. Dishes and untensils are provided. Guests may enjoy more than one thousand volumes of literature of a variety of interests ranging from contemporary novels by authors such as Tom Wolfe, to the contemplative writings of Thomas Aquinas, as well as a variety of games and recreational activities. The beds in the three cabins sleep eleven. Guests may also sleep on the two couches, or in sleeping bags on the floor, and may even camp on the grounds.

Enjoy al fresco meals lakeside and relaxation on the cabin decks.
