The Seagull Inn Bed & Breakfast, in Mendocino, California, is one of the longest operating B&B's on the beautiful Northern California Coast.

Our home was originally constructed in 1878, and a huge Holly tree shades our front porch. The property is carefully maintained, and filled with Mendocino's historic charm.

Guest can wander through our private garden, and relax in one of the secluded sitting areas.

Each of our nine guest rooms has a private bathroom, and is beautifully decorated with antiques, original art, and collectibles. Some rooms have ocean views. Rooms include:

The Abalone Room: upstairs in the main house, full bed.

The Geranium Room: largest room in main house, downstairs, queen and full beds, limited handicap accessibility.

The Sand Dollar Room: upstairs in main house, two full beds, ocean view.

The Driftwood Room: upstairs in main house, queen and full beds, large bathroom, peek-a-boo ocean view.

The Lookout-One Room: downstairs in main house, queen bed, ocean view, sitting porch.

The Lookout-Two Room: downstairs in main house, 2 full beds, sitting porch, can be combined with Lookout-One to form a suite.

The Sea Urchin Room: upstairs, main house, queen bed, garden view.

We serve an organic breakfast each morning, delivered to your door with the morning paper (upon request). Breakfast also includes your choice of coffee, hot chocolate, or hot tea.

Mendocino and the North Coast are steeped in natural beauty and historical significance. The area was "discovered" by the Baltimore schooner "Frolic" in 1850, when it was shipwrecked off the Mendocino Coast.

Exploration of the Northern California Coast revealed huge redwood forests, which became the fodder for the region's booming lumbar industry.

Mendocino Village was built in a New England style, and the town still has its Victorian charm. The climate here is temperate - never too cold or too hot - and the area is riddled with natural hiking trails through five parks, including abalone coves, tide pools, redwood groves, waterfalls and the famous Pygmy Forest.

Highway One spans this fantastic coastline from Elk to Westport, with amazing views all the way.
