Sandy Hook Cottage, tucked on a hillside beneath the historic Twin Lights lighthouse, is just an hour from New York City by car, or 45 minutes by ferry, and is close to the Gateway National Recreation Area.

The bed and breakfast cottage is a three bedroom English style cottage built in 1933 as a summer residence. At that time, it was surrounded by elaborate seaside hotels and guest houses offering every amenity to their well-off guests. Cradled within the fortunate geographic confines of the Navesink Hills (or "the Highlands of Navesink" as they are also known), Sandy Hook Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, Highlands has always awed and inspired visitors with its unique combination of scenic beauty, maritime history and tranquility.

At Sandy Hook Cottage, we draw upon these, our natural amenities, for the pleasure and enjoyment of our guests.

The inviting downstairs common area and garden sun porch offer a quiet haven to read or listen to relaxing music, perhaps your favorite 45's from our vintage '60's era jukebox. On a chilly evening, settle in alongside our fireplace and let the glow and warmth of the crackling fire transport your mind, body, and spirit to another time.

Out back, you will find our deck and patio area with views of Sandy Hook and the Atlantic Ocean. Pull up a lounge chair! Relax, catch the sunshine, or enjoy the eight seat Jacuzzi - a perfect way to begin or end a day at the beach, biking, or sightseeing.
