We welcome and accept all, including Gay/lesbian/transgendered guests. Our sunny living room has a gas fireplace with carved oak mantelpiece, cable TV/VCR, a free guest computer with high-speed internet, a video library, and telephone for free local calls. We offer an all-you-can-enjoy breakfast buffet from 5 am-10:30 am in the formal dining room. Our fully equipped guest kitchen may be used to prepare light meals or store food purchases. 8 large provincially themed guestrooms, share 3 bathrooms and 2 additional guestrooms have private en-suite baths. 2 guestrooms can be combined as an economical 2 bedroom apartment with bath, kitchenette/dining and living room. A sunny, private, roof deck, and a front porch with street view, are both available to smokers. The house is staffed daily and we are adults only, pet free and an environmentally conscious house. St Luke's park across the road has free tennis courts and a basketball court. Elgin St. with shopping, services, numerous restaurants, bars, nightclubs and coffee shops is a minute away. A 10 minute walk away at Bank St & Somerset street are the bars, restaurants, book shops, & sauna of Ottawa's small growing gay village. Within a 20 minute walk is the National Gallery, National Arts Centre, Museum of Civilization, Museum of contemporary photography, Museum of Nature, Basilica of Notre Dame, Currency Museum, the spectacular new Canadian War Museum, Ski Museum and Tulip Museum. The beautiful historic Rideau Canal and locks and the majestic Ottawa Gatineau and Rideau rivers all converge in a panoramic setting. Ottawa's busiest entertainment area is the historic Byward market and Tin House square, surrounded by restaurants, bars,(The Lookout) cafes, great shopping and more cultural attractions. Further afield are Aviation Museum, Laurier House, Science museum, Rideau Hall, Rockcliffe gardens, Experimental farm and gardens, 24 Sussex drive, Rideau Centre, Royal Canadian Mint tours, Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables and much more. The rugged Gatineau Hills and park, ski resorts, canoeing, golfing and windsurfing are nearby in addition to the hundreds of bicycle paths that make Ottawa an enjoyable place to live and visit, Free amenities include: a wireless network, guest computer with internet, video library, daily newspaper, baggage storage, umbrellas, instant hot beverages, local calls and more. As well a $5 laundry service and $9/day, pre-reserved parking are offered. Our relaxed checkout time is 11:30 am and check in is after 1 pm.
