The Renoir Hotel is a gay-friendly boutique hotel, conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
The ornate interior of our historical landmark building, built in 1909, was renovated to restore its European turn-of-the-century charm, and all rooms were refurbished in 2001.
The 133 comfortable guest rooms (standard, deluxe, and view rooms) and 2 suites have been just recently refurbished. They offer color television with complimentary cable service, AM/FM clock radio, direct dial telephone with modem jack, in-room safe, ironing board and private bath-shower combination with hair-dryer.
Union Square and the Cable Car turnaround are only a few steps away.
The unique Civic Center complex featuring the Opera House, Symphony Hall, Civic Auditorium, Main Library, and the famous City Hall are literally on our doorstep. Moscone Convention Center, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts are within walking distance. Theaters, Chinatown, the San Francisco Shopping Centre, and the Metreon are also nearby.
Our café and espresso bar offer daily Continental and American Breakfast buffets and lunch in the lobby lounge. Pastries and teas are served throughout the afternoon. The café also provides room service for breakfast and lunch. Open daily from 7:00am to 3:00pm.
The Bar & Lounge opens in the afternoon for cocktails, music and games; featuring billiards, fussball (table soccer), darts, and jukebox.
Café do Brasil - Open 7 days a week, 7:30am to 9:30pm: Elvia and Paulo established their well-known 'Café do Brasil' as San Francisco's first and only Brazilian "Churrascaria" at the Renoir Hotel, at 1106 Market Street. Their friendly and professional service adds a warm and exotic touch to the Renoir Hotel's classic European ambiance. Café do Brasil is the only restaurant in Northern California serving the "Churrasco Rodizio", the typical Brazilian barbecue. Meals Served: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Group meals and receptions on request Specials: Brazilian specialties: 'Churrasco Rodizio' - All-you-can-Eat barbecue, 'Feijoada' (National dish of Brazil), Seafood, sandwiches, salads, burritos, homemade desserts. The Renoir is good moderate-price option with absolutely unbeatable views of the Gay Pride Parade on market Street (last weekend of June) when the hotel's proportion of gay guests swells from 10% or so to nearly 100%. Book six months in advance for Pride weekend. It's also near Folsom St and a popular, convenient option for attendees of the Folsom Street Fair.
12 minutes to the Castro (by streetcar or subway). All Market Street nightbuses coming from the Castro stop at the hotel.
