We decided to renovate the property and to reopen it as an inn, so we could share the beauty of the property and the surrounding area with our visitors. And we've renamed the property "Queen's Inn by the River", in honor of our grandmother. Each room is a study in modern luxury - relax in your room or on your own private balcony. Or wander the landscaped grounds - follow the path that winds through the property, and settle yourself into one of our comfortable Adirondack chairs to read a book or enjoy the forest and river views. Most of our guestrooms come with a gas fireplace. Each guest room has its own private bathroom (our suite also has a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom), and has special art lights and dimmers so you can set the lighting to match your own mood. Rooms also have king or queen-sized beds, flatscreen televisions (local stations, some cable stations, and Showrime), mp3 ready alarm clocks, and much more. We serve a continental breakfast each morning with fresh coffee and hot tea. Planning a getaway to Yosemite or the Sierra Nevadas? Come stay with us at Queen's Inn by the River.

Queen's Inn by the River (formerly Cedar Lane Lodge) originally opened in 1951 as a motel for visitors to the Yosemite Valley. Later, it was run as the White Oaks Guest Home, and was purchased by our grandmother, Naomi M. Ashby, a.k.a. "Queen" (never, ever "grandma" or "granny", in the mid sixties.
