PURPLE RELIEF:
Purple Roofs Innkeepers & Travel Agents
in Hurricane Katrina's Path

We're putting together an aid resource page for all of our innkeepers and travel agents affected by Hurricane Katrina. We'll regularly update the info here about the status of each property and their particular needs, and ask that the other innkeepers and travel agents, etc listed on Purple Roofs do whatever they can to help these folks. Needs info is still sketchy, and will probably remain so until most of these folks are allowed to return to their homes.

A few other resources on the web:

http://www.scipionus.com/
A great Google-hack - this map has information on various areas throughout the storm-affected area - first-hand accounts of the status of buildings and neighborhoods posted by folks who are there.

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=643391315877
Professional Association of Innkeepers International room night donation database - PAII is asking innkeepers to donate stays for displaced innkeepers from the storm-affected area. Not specifically gay/lesbian, but good folks.

http://secure.bedandbreakfast.com/MakeDonation.aspx
BedandBreakfast.com has set up a secure website for making donations that will go to innkeepers affected by Katrina and the aftermath. Not specifically gay/lesbian.

http://www.rainbowfund.org/
A gay and lesbian relief organization taking donations for diasater relief - but not specifically innkeeper/travel related.
