Welcome to the Purple Pelican Guest Home, your home away from home.  Serenity awaits you.

Watch the pelicans swoop over the Outer Banks, see turtles sunbathe, otters play, or catch a romantic sunset from the 2-tier rear decks, patio, and pool  overlooking beautiful Crystal Lake.

Winter, summer, spring, and fall, the Purple Pelican has something for everyone to enjoy.

Wander up the street to the lakeside pool and fitness center, the tennis courts, or play some hoops.  Just a few minutes walk even brings you to the ocean, or ocean side pool.

For a bit of adventure, take a 4-wheel drive to Carova, Swan Beach, or North Swan.  Maybe you'll even see a few of the wild mustangs. 

After a day at the beach, sit back and enjoy a DVD from our jukebox, viewed on a 50 inch widescreen TV equipped with surround sound in the upper level family room. Or, lounge in the Captain's Watch, with a spectacular view of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, the Currituck Sound, and Crystal Lake. 

If solitude is more your speed, or if (heaven forbid) you need to work, spend quiet time in the refuge of the fully stocked library,  located on the First Floor.  Wireless internet access is available throughout the house.

There is plenty of room for the whole family. The Ground Level is equipped with surround sound TV, game room, and wet bar with refrigerator as well as direct access to the outdoor pool and hot tub.

Enter the sanctuary of one of the four First floor bedrooms. Each bedroom suite with private bath is named and decorated with a special theme. The Nantucket, Monterey, and Bahama suites overlook the lake and Currituck Sound.  The Surfs Up / Aloha room is decorated with 1 bunk bed , 1 twin bed, and has its own private bath.  

Enjoy breakfast in the King Sized bed of the Second Floor master suite, the SOUTH BEACH. Accessed through double doors, the suite offers views of the Currituck light house and the Currituck Sound from your private deck.  Walk through two large closets to enter the large master bath.  Featured is an 8-head jetted walk-in tiled shower with overhead rain head, double vanity, and much more.

Entertaining is a breeze.  The open floor plan of the second floor consists of the living room, dining room, and gourmet  kitchen.  The fully equipped state-of-the-art kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, double oven, 5-burner gas cooktop and wine refrigerator in center island, and breakfast nook.

We've also added an elevator for the convenience of our guests with special access needs.

Purple Pelican is located on Lakeside Drive in the Villages of Ocean Hill, Corolla, North Carolina.   We are just a 1 minute walk to the pool, club house, tennis, and basketball, 5 minute walk to ocean.  Plenty of activities for all season.
