RURAL ITALIAN VILLA RETREAT NEAR SATURNIA, IN THE HILLS OF SOUTHERN TUSCANY, ITALY
A recently restored stone barn amongst the rolling hills of undiscovered southern Tuscany offers two charming cottages in a tended garden with spectacular views down the Albegna valley to the coast and up the valley to Monte Labbro.
The picturesque village of Roccalbegna is a ten minute drive away, the hot springs of Saturnia are 20 minutes away (15% discount available to guests). It's an hours drive down to the coastal resorts of Castiglione della Pescaia and Marina di Grosseto.
The Etruscan remains of Sovana and Pitigliano are 30 minutes away. The area boasts numerous nature reserves and is good for walking. The English owner is on hand to help, advise and make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Traditional chestnut beams, terracotta tiles and fireplace give the cottage a relaxing old world feel.
The bedroom comprises a double bed and a fold down single. There's a small safe for valuables.
The bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer. The living room has a small 'cucina in muratura' with a traditional stone sink. A double sofa bed provides sleeping accommodation for two.
There's also an open fireplace for winter evenings and full central heating. The secluded private terrace for 'al fresco' eating offers spectacular views to Monte Labbro and the hills above Roccalbegna.
Capitorio
This cottage faces south and offers wonderful views across the Albegna valley and down to the Rocconi WWF nature reserve, the coast and the Argentario peninsular beyond.
Terracota tiles, chestnut beams, a traditional 'cucina in muratura' with traditional 'ganglia' sink and the open fireplace give the cottage a cosy old world atmosphere.
A double sofa bed in the living room provides sleeping accommodation for two. There's a double bed and fold down single in the bedroom.
A hairdryer is provided in the bathroom and in the bedroom there's a small safe for valuables. The private terrace allows for peaceful 'al fresco' dining with breathtaking views across the valley and multicoloured sunsets. Full central heating.
