Situated on over 4 acres of landscaped gardens and open grassland, The Old Point Reyes Schoolhouse Compound offers seclusion to guests just a stone's throw away from the magnificent Point Reyes National Seashore Wilderness Area. Noted for its sunny prospect, the Old Point Reyes Schoolhouse Compound is a rustic yet luxurious place for romantic retreats, family vacations, or special group celebrations.

Each of the 3 private get-aways - Jasmine Cottage, Gray's Retreat and the Barn Loft - has its own furnished patio and gardens, beautiful views, fireplace, full kitchen and bath. A barbecue, chaise lounges, hammock, fireplace, garden hot tub, bocce ball court and basketball hoop complete the setting for quiet relaxation. A large stone gathering patio abuts the flower and vegetable gardens. It includes a gas grill and outdoor kitchen for catered or self-catered events. A fire pit sits at the center for gathering under the stars at night. A large sheltered lawn set apart from the rest of the compound is the ideal garden spot for weddings and other ceremonies. The School house compound can host 60 people for a special event.

The Compound is situated at the top of the hill just a five-minute walk down to the village of Point Reyes Station where organic produce vendors, gourmet food to-go and bakery await. Our local seasonal farmer's market is resplendent with buckets of flowers, local cheeses, fruits, vegetables, honeys, and home baked breads. Fine art galleries, bookstores and Toby's Feed Barn anchor Main Street.

Just a five-minute drive up the Scenic Coast Highway along the shores of beautiful Tomales Bay brings travelers to our three local oyster farms that harvest oysters and clams from the pristine bay waters. A short bit further north is the fishing village of Bodega Bay with purveyors of fresh-caught ocean fish. Just south of the Point Reyes Schoolhouse Compound is the classic coastal village of Stinson Beach at the foot of beautiful Mount Tamalpais. The wine country is an hour's drive east through bucolic rolling hills, fields and orchards. San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge are one hour away.
