GEM IN DULUTH, MINNESOTA "
Enjoy our beautiful antiques, fine linens, china, crystal and quiet moments in a mansion designed over a hundred years ago by renowned architect, William T. Bray. Play our beautiful grand piano in our historic, acoustically designed music room. Savor our fair trade organic coffee, teas, cider, hot chocolate and fabulous candlelit breakfasts - we always offer both traditional and vegetarian options! Or relax with an in-suite massage. Try something from our exclusive collection of complimentary wine, cheeses, meats and other delicious offerings in the late afternoon/early evening. Duluth was named Minnesota’s new Gayborhood by Lavender magazine, and the Olcott House was called "the perfect romantic getaway", where you and your partner can relax in total comfort and privacy in one of our very large and luxurious suites - guests love how much room they have. Select a DVD from our extensive collection, including some of the great old Hollywood classics and many recent domestic and foreign films. We also have a great collection of games, history books on Lake Superior, and classic literature for your enjoyment during your stay with us. Explore the hidden treasures throughout our mansion, the first one built in this neighborhood, which contained more millionaires per capita than any American city in the early 1900s. Enjoy Lake Superior's breezes, just 6 blocks away, while you relax on the Grand Porch or sit in our private garden in the hammock alongside the fountain under the verdant arbor of the majestic century-old maple trees. You can play croquet on our expansive, rolling lawn (5 city lots) surrounded by the original 1904 brick and iron fence. Walk or bike on Duluth’s newly extended Lake Walk, easily accessible from our house or sneak over to our special “Olcott House Secret Spot” down in a gorgeous walking canyon on a hidden forested creek located on our very own First Street. There's so much to do here on the largest lake on the planet. We have six unique guest suites, five in our Main Mansion and one in our Carriage House, each with a private bath and shower, a/c, fireplace, LCD TV, DVD player, and a CD player. There's also free wifi access. Your hosts, David and Jerry, bring years of experience from New York and Los Angeles to the operation of their historic Duluth inn. Come stay with us at the Olcott House, Duluth’s Only Gay-Owned and Operated Bed and Breakfast Inn, and feel truly comfortable and welcome.
