Get away from it all, relax & rejuvenate at our comfortable 1860's granite mansion located on 100 acres in the midst of beautiful mountain vistas. Gay-owned and operated, the Notchland Inn rests atop a knoll at the base of Mount Bemis & looks out upon Mounts Hope and Crawford.
*Settle in to one of our seven deluxe rooms or six spacious suites, each individually appointed and all with woodburning fireplaces and private baths. Our Premium suites with private decks overlooking the gardens and mountain views, feature Jacuzzi tubs. Or choose RiverView, a 2&Mac184;-bedroom, 2-bath cottage down the road, featuring a kitchen, a Jacuzzi & a sauna, and although it has no fireplace, RiverView is a welcoming place for guests with children and/or pets.
The front parlor, designed by Gustav Stickley, a founder of the Arts & Crafts movement, is a perfect place to sit by the fire & read, or to visit. The music room draws guests to the piano, or the stereo to listen to music they personally select. Here too, there's often a "puzzle-in-progress" or a serious Scrabble game being waged. The views of the Inn property & mountains are wonderful from the sun-room. ... a great place to sip your coffee and read that book you've been saving, or borrow one from Notchland's eclectic library.
*Wednesdays through Sundays, Notchland's wonderful 5-course dinner is served, at 7 pm, in a romantic fireplaced dining room looking out to the gazebo by our pond. The meal takes approximately 2+ hours to complete. Our Chef creates a new menu each day. There are always tempting choices: 2 Soups, 2 Appetizers, 3 Entrees, Salad and 3 Desserts. A selection of wines, beers, spirits and cordials complements our menu.
Morning brings a bountiful country breakfast to fuel you for the adventures of the day.
*We have 8,000 feet of Saco River frontage on our property and two of the area's best swimming holes! Nancy Pond feeds a brook by the same name which cascades down Mt. Nancy & enters the Saco just above our granite gorge.
The Davis Path, which ascends Mount Crawford and links to other trails leading to the summit of Mount Washington, starts just across the road from the Inn. Many other hiking trails begin on & near our property.
*For you animal lovers. . . Abby, our Bernese Mountain Dog, will greet you on arrival.
*Other activities to be enjoyed on the property include mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing, & soaking in our wooden hot tub which sits in a gazebo by the pond.
*Nearby attractions include: Crawford Notch; Arethusa Falls; Frankenstein Cliff; the Bretton Woods and Attitash ski areas; the Bear Notch, Jackson & Great Glen Trails cross-country areas; five 18-hole golf courses; shopping, and more shopping at the antiques, arts & crafts, and factory outlet stores in North Conway; the Mount Washington Auto Road & Cog Railway; the Crawford Notch Line of Conway Scenic Rail; and more.
