Traveling in Our Fabulous World: I.O.W.A.
By Donald Pile & Ray Williams, Gay Travelers

A lot of people (gays included) have put down the state of Iowa for years. But guess what?  They have done what most States in the country have been unable to do and that is their State’s Supreme Court passed a law (by a unanimous decision of the court) this month allowing same-sex marriages which was the third State behind Massachusetts and Connecticut to do so. A couple of days later Vermont passed the same law through their legislative system.  Hopefully the California Supreme Court will take some lessons from Iowa and will over-ride Proposition 8 and real soon!

Xativa, City of Popes
By Ian & Jose, Casa Aldomar

After traveling through mile upon mile of lush, fragrant orange groves, the first glimpse of Xativa (pronounced Shativa) is the impressive castle that majestically overlooks the city. Xativa – The Lower Castle: This intriguing city, just 60km south of Valencia, bears the imprint of many different civilizations.  In fact, the castle itself is an ideal place to survey the valley where once the legions of Rome marched along the Via Augusta, the main highway leading from ancient Hispania to Rome.

Subbetica Natural Park - Cordoba, Andalusia, Spain
By Alan, Hotel El Cortijo La Prensa

The Subbética is a district made up of fourteen white mountain villages in the southern area of the Province of Córdoba, in the heart of Andalusia. This privileged location means that the Costa del Sol and the cities of Córdoba, Granada and Jaén are no more than an hour away, and Seville can be reached in less than two hours. This area, with its Nature Park and protected areas, its Baroque monuments and archaeological heritage, its crafts and traditions, makes for a visit hard to forget.

The "Little Smokeys" - Ohio's Hocking Hills
By Derek, The Four Seasons Cabins

The Hocking Hills of Ohio, located in SE Ohio, are sometimes affectionately called the "Little Smoky's".  With seven state parks, two nature preserves and numerous natural areas the Hocking Hills are an outdoor enthusiasts dream. All seven of the state parks and the two nature preserves are located in one county, Hocking. So no matter where you stay nothing is far away. Whether you are into hiking, bird watching, canoeing or horseback riding it is available here.

Visiting Amsterdam, The Netherlands
By Henk, Henk's Place

Amsterdam, one of the oldest cities in Europe has a multitude of fascinating things to offer. One of the most liberal cities in the World, gay rights have been guaranteed now by law and the Dutch government is now on the path to truly realize the acceptance of gays and lesbians in society. A much more difficult task but taken very seriously. During Gay pride in 2008 the minister of Education and Culture participated in person with a ministerial boat during the Canal Pride.
