Downtown TulsaHere we are in Colorado where the leafs are quickly turning. With so many trees in the mountains it certainly is a great photo op. Thank goodness we get a lot of space on our digital camera disk!

Colorado which was the MOST "Homophobic" State in the Union until very recently does not have a lot of gay accommodations but here is a list of the most important ones around the State:

Downtown TulsaBut what lacks in gay accommodations can not be said for the gay bar scene! In Denver, BJ's -- 1380 So. Broadway has been around for years and is certainly a very popular hangout. The cowboy boy, Charlies at 900 E. Colfax is always packed most nights. The Den at 5110 W. Colfax has dinner service as well as the bar and it has been around for years also. Bars in any town seems to come and go but the saddest bar closing was the Triangle. What fun everybody had there in the good old days! Other bars to visit are: JR's, 777 E. 17th Ave., The Compound, 145 Broadway, The Denver Wrangler, 1700 Logan Ave. and Tracks at 3500 Walnut Street. The two bath houses are the MidTown Spa at 2935 Zuni and the Denver Swim Club, 6923 E. Colfax Ave. Denver is a city of wonderful restaurants all over the city. Like Chicago, Denver has so many to choose from in all types of menus. Denver has lots of little communities within the city. The arts and museums are great as well as the shopping.

Downtown TulsaThe other main city in the State is Colorado Springs which just has two bars, Club Q at 3430 No. Academy Blvd. and the Underground at 110 No. Nevada Ave. For a city that so many religious "nuts" and conservatives it is a wonder that there are any gay bars there at all. But Colorado Springs has a great Pride Fest every year at their downtown City Park.

Most of the ski resort towns in Colorado are extremely gay friendly and we HATE That term "Gay friendly". One does not say "Jewish friendly" or "Afro-American friendly"! But anyway, the ski resort towns love our money and know that gays do spend a lot of money. Both Aspen and Vail have extremely gay friendly restaurants as well as bars.

Other than Denver and Colorado Springs and the resort towns of Vail and Aspen, there are Boulder, which is close to Denver and the home of the University of Colorado. Bars includes The Foundry Billiards Club, 2151 Arapahoe Ave. and The Yard, 2690 28th St. Further North is Ft. Collins, home of yet another University and their bars are Choice City Shots, 124 Laporte Ave. and Club Static, 1437 E. Mulberry St. On the West side of the State is Grand Junction and their bar is Quincy's, 609 Main St. and it is gay after 8 PM. As if they don't want gays there BEFORE 8 PM???

Downtown TulsaMost people that go to Colorado only see the Denver airport and then go directly to either Vail or Aspen for the skiing. But you should stay in Denver for a few days to get the feel of the city. It is a booming city and the gay presence there is astounding. Things have certainly turned around for the best there in that regard. There are dozens and dozens of parks and forest perserves in Colorado. If you into camping then you will find dozens of campsites. There are literaly dozens of little villages and towns to explore. Pike's Peak, Buffalo Bill's Grave, Garden of the Gods just to name a few. Do your research before you go and you won't be disappointed. Denver has plenty of sports teams from Baseball, soccer, football and golf.

Always remember to have fun when traveling, meet new people and talk to everyone!
