The Newcastle Inn Bed & Breakfast is a Coastal Maine Country Inn overlooking the wonderful harbor at Damariscotta.  We offer Maine bed and breakfast accommodations in our 15 individually decorated rooms and suites.  We are perfect for a getaway or a longer vacation.

Our Bed & Breakfast Inn is centrally located in Mid-Coast Maine; close to Freeport, Boothbay Harbor, Camden, Pemaquid Point, Monhegan Island, and even Bar Harbor.

While at the Inn you can spend your time antiquing, hiking, kayaking, biking, and sightseeing all along the Maine Coast. Or you can go whale watching or sailing along the rocky coast of Maine.

For gourmet dining on our premises, we have an award-winning restaurant, Lupines, which features the best of Maine; local meats and produce, and the freshest local seafood and lobsters available.  We specialize in French Cuisine, and have an extensive wine list, including wines from around the World.

The Newcastle Inn has earned numerous awards and accolades. In 2001 the Inn was selected as one of the 12 "Romantic Hideaways" by The Discerning Traveler. The Maine Sunday Telegram awarded Lupines 4 1/2 stars and referred to Lupines as "On a cloud near culinary Heaven".

This quiet corner of Maine's famous Mid Coast is just enough off the well-trodden path that you'll have the pleasure of discovering your own special hideaway. Your memories will be filled with lighthouse-crowned ocean points, islands in the bay, and authentic seaside villages where things haven't changed much in a long time. Yet when you're inclined to do the "must sees," it is only a short drive to such popular destinations as Boothbay Harbor, Camden, and Freeport.

Just beyond the inn's lawn and gardens lies the Damariscotta River, a beautiful, unspoiled inlet that flows to the sea. Ospreys dive for fish here, and ducks glide on quiet waters. Lobster boats rest on their moorings, and there, across the water, stand the white steeples and brick storefronts of the village. It is peaceful here.
