SOUTH SLOPE OF MT. ASHLAND "
As the name suggests the house sits on the edge of a meadow with beautiful views including Mount Ashland and the Siskiyous. The Meadow House was built in 1987 by a Buddhist nun. The care and attention to detail in the placement and building of the house makes for a serene and idyllic setting, reflecting the goal of providing temporary quarters for the Rinpoche, leader of the Buddhist Temple. The house comfortably sleeps up to six (more on the floor if you choose). The master guest suite features a King size bed, writing desk, walk-in closet with a child's bed, adjoining bathroom with shower. The basement "family room" has extra beds, and separate entrance, writing desk, and DISH TV. Other modern facilities include washer, dryer, dishwasher, and utility sink. The full kitchen has a microwave, toaster oven, electric stove. And there's WiFi internet and fax links, and television if you have to stay connected with the world outside. The main floor features the kitchen, and combination dining and living room with a sofa bed -- extra cozy with the nearby wood stove -- in addition to the second bathroom, laundry, and a piano in the foyer. The house boasts extensive LP, CD audio, video, and DVD collections. Curl up on the couch in front of the toasty wood stove with a book from the library that we trust will serve you well whatever your tastes and interests, from science to personal growth, from health to art and photography and popular to classical to new age music. The piano is an added feature with a variety of music from beginner to expert.
