Our bed and breakfast rests in its own grounds of 1.3 hectares (about 3.5 acres) and these are planted with native trees and shrubs. The terrain around our house forms the low foothills of the Pyrenees and many visitors enjoy walks in this area. There are three bedrooms available for guests to choose from and a good sized secluded swimming pool, close to the house, which is available for guests' use. Please note that our house is also home to four cats so that we regretfully cannot accommodate guests’ dogs or other pets.

Mas d'En Coste B&B is situated about 500m (10 mins. walk) from the hamlet of Politg which is itself 7km by road from the town of Thuir. Politg forms part of the commune of Camélas, and contains about 30 houses but no shops or bars etc. Perpignan is 20km to the east and the coastal resorts of Canet Plage, St. Cyprien and Argeles sur Mer are within a 40 minute drive. The Spanish border is just 25 minutes away.

This French bed & breakfast has three bedrooms available for guests to choose from and these are all equipped with tea and coffee making facilities for guests’ own use.

The rooms are provided on a bed and breakfast basis but, as detailed on the rates page, we can provide you with lunch and/or evening meals if requested.
Should you wish to eat out then you can chose from restaurants in the local town of Thuir, about 12 minutes drive away, where you can find basic fixed price 3 course menus starting from about 12 euros, which will often include a quarter litre of wine. Further afield Perpignan provides a wider choice of styles and prices for dining and we will always be pleased to help with recommendations if we can.

We do not generally provide a laundry service to guests but will always endeavour to help out where there are special requirements.

It is not possible to allow guests to make use of the kitchen facilities to cook or prepare their own food but we will always try to accommodate special guest requirements where we can.

Guests have access to the living room of the house as well as the mezzanine area where there is an extensive library of books and leaflets on the local area as well as general reading matter and videos.

The climate in the Roussillon area is generally quite mild all year round, most rain tending to fall in late winter and early spring. The summers can be dry, often with very little or no rain for several weeks. Due to our proximity to the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees the maximum daytime temperature in summer does not usually rise much above the lower thirties centigrade and there is often a breeze, which ensures that the days never become too hot.
