It is in the countryside in the heart of Provence that Michael and Laurence found the mas de l'hermitage. After rennovating the 19th century provencal farmhouse (mas) and its outbuildings they now invite you to share the best of the french way of life Provence style, as well as a relaxing time around the pool set amongst olive and fruit trees overlooking 40 acres of vineyards.

Around their Table d'Hôte on the terrace under the mulberry tree you will sample the best of mediterranean food.

Michael was born in England and educated at the French Lycee in London. He has spent over 25 years in the catering business and is a self-taught chef with a passion for food, eating, hunting down great produce and creating new recipes.

He confesses to a simple and honest approach to food, hoping to inspire in his guests confidence in their own ability and flair. It's not all about weights, measures and cooking times.

Since moving to Provence, he has built up a loyal following of foodies who visit regularly from across the globe to enjoy his culinary flair, both traditional and contemporary.

Laurence is Michael's French born wife who is an antiques and art specialist. She will share her expertise and advise enthusiasts who'd like to discover the local markets.
