After a busy day touring the French Quarter, relax on our front porch, upstairs balcony or lush tropical courtyard.

In existence for over 150 years, this neighborhood has many fine examples of various types of architecture from the period, single/double shotgun houses, French, Creole cottages, Greek Revival, and Victorian. There has been a resurgence of renovation and restoration in the area. You will enjoy walking to the French Quarter and seeing how new paint has brought life to a very bohemian collection of houses, shops, restaurants and music clubs.

We're located in the Historic Faubourg Marigny area of old New Orleans and just 5 blocks from the French Quarter. Several great restaurants and bars are within walking distance of the house.

At the corner of Esplanade and Decatur you can catch the Riverside Streetcar that will take you past Jackson Square all the way to the Aquarium, Harrah's Casino, and Riverwalk Marketplace. From there you can catch the St. Charles Ave Streetcar which will take you uptown to the Garden District and the Audubon Park and Zoo.

Also in the area:

Washington Park: Constructed in the 19th century as a suburban park in the wealthy Creole-populated Faubourg Marigny neighborhood adjacent to the French Quarter. The park is an outstanding example of its era, surrounded by a finely detailed cast iron fence with eight gates, and enclosing a symmetrical planting of very old live oak trees, palms, crepe myrtles, and ground cover.

Frenchman Street: Travel + Leisure magazine (April 2002) named this area one of the best neighborhoods in the USA for its excellent restaurants, bars, and jazz.

French Market: Five blocks of retail and specialty shops featuring regional and international clothes, handcrafts, gifts, food, music and more!

Come visit us in the Big Easy and help us rebuild a new, better New Orleans.
