Our Mount Desert Island bed and breakfast was originally built in 1903, as a retreat for well-to-do summer visitors. The inn sits on a quiet, tree-lined street in a residential neighborhood, within easy walking distance of Bar Harbor's quaint boutique shops, great restaurants, and the nearby ocean.

We're also just five minutes away from Acadia National Park, where you can find outdoor adventures thw whole year through - watch the sun set from Cadillac Mountain or see the waves crash against Schooner Head.

Acadia National Park also has more than a hundred of hiking trails, including easy walks and more difficult hikes. There are also forty miles of carriage roads, ideal for walking and bike riding.

Between late spring and early fall, there's also great whale watching, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and many other water sports. If you like to try a little bit of everything, we can help you fill up an entire week with great activities here on the island.

And there are also some fantastic day trip options, including Blue Hill, Deer Isle, Castine, and the Schoodic Peninsula.

We serve a large breakfast every morning in our sunny dining room - enjoy culinary treats and meet the other guests staying at Maples Inn B&B. In the afternoon, we provide refreshments on the front porch in the warmer months and before our blazing fireplace in the wintertime.
