"TRADITIONAL B&B IN THE HEART OF
ST. PETERSBURG'S ARTS DISTRICT"

The historic Mansion House I and MHII are mirror-image arts and crafts houses built in 1901-1904 - we're celebrating our centennial in 2001! We're a traditional B&B inn in the heart of beautiful St. Petersburg's Old Northeast and the arts and entertainment district, The QuARTer. Just two blocks from one of the loveliest natural harbors, the Vinoy Basin and the Renaissance Vinoy Resort, Straub, and Vinoy Parks - the perfect place to see the sunrise, take a run, rollerblade, bike or walk.

Mansion House was the home of the first mayor of St. Peter, David Moffett. It was built by one of the movers and shakers of this area, A.F. Thomasson and his wife, Phoebe Mackie. MHII was built by Julia Kemp and her husband, a noted physician in town. Each room is furnished differently—mostly antiques and rich woods.

A few of our local attractions:

Straub and Vinoy Parks: A 5 minute stroll where open air concerts and festivals are held regularly.

Museum of Fine Arts: Providing outstanding examples of world art in an inviting, elegant setting.

St Petersburg Holocaust Museum: The fourth largest Holocaust museum in the country.

Fort Desoto Park: Besides the glistening 7-mile stretch of beach, the park offers outstanding opportunities to view wildlife.

The Pinellas Trail: A linear park and recreation trail currently extending from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs

The Pier: A 15-minute walk. Live music, dazzling tropical fish display, boat trips, fishing, roof-top restaurant and more.

Caladesi State Park: Hurricane Pass separates Honeymoon Island from Caladesi Island. This island, accessible only by boat has received national recognition as one of the best beaches in the U.S.

The Bayfront Center: The Times Bayfront , The Mahaffey Theater, The Sun Pavilion, The Backstage Lounge

Sunken Gardens: The oldest Botanic Garden in the State of: Florida and the oldest Subtropical Botanic Garden in the USA.

Most of the bedding is hand-made by Pat Berry, our assistant innkeeper, and all of the custom furniture painting is done by Marva Simpson, an internationally-shown artist-in-residence.

We offer robes in your room, the private Jacuzzi garden spa area for the Carriage House, and the swimming pool/Jacuzzi area between the two houses.

We also offer special services for those who are here for medical treatment or on business. A conference room is available for focus group meetings and catering can be arranged. And commitment ceremonies, receptions, and honeymoons can be arranged on site. We can provide a great setting for a friendship ceremony and we can do all the catering.

We know you have a choice when coming to Tampa/St. Pete and you can be assured that we will exceed your expectations of what a B&B really should be. We offer friendly, American hospitality and conviviality with great food – and lots of it – amenities, and quality guaranteed.

Our staff will ensure your visit is as perfect as we can make it. Give us a call or contact us online and tell us when you are coming - we will look forward to seeing you and becoming friends.
