" LUNENBURG, NOVA SCOTIA BED & BREAKFAST "

We welcome you to a wonderfully restored, classical Victorian-style B&B Inn at the edge of Old Town Lunenburg, a World Heritage Site in Nova Scotia.

We are proud of our luxurious accommodations, fine service and careful attention to detail. Our breakfasts, in particular, are often praised by our guests.

Each morning, we serve a gourmet breakfast to help start off the day right - enjoy dishes such as poached eggs, a breakfast casserole, stuffed French Toast and Maple Syrup, or baked eggs. Our breakfasts are complemented with seasonal fruit, baked goods & natural preserves.

Lunenbrg Inn has been chosen as one of America's Favorite Inns, B&B's and Small Hotels, and is also a registered Heritage Property (circa 1893).

The Lunenburg Inn has a storied history - originally built in 1893 Reubin A. Conrad, a carpenter and later the Superintendent of Streets for Lunenburg. Blacksmith George W. Hamm bought the property in 1913, and his wife, Sophia, opened it as The Hillside Hotel in 1923.

The train station opened next door in the same year, and the first guests often arrived by train with the tracks running between the two buildings. During the rum running during prohibition, it is believed that Joseph Kennedy, President John F. Kennedy's father, visited The Hillside Hotel frequently.

The Hillside Hotel closed in 1979, and fell into disrepair. New owners bought the inn in 1987 and restored this historic Lunenburg property, opening it as the Lunenburg Inn.

Gail & Don bought the Lunenburg Inn in 1995, continuing the lodging tradition and adding their own principals: cleanliness, Victorian charm and elegance, a careful attention to details, maintenence of the property, and fantastic service that doesnt intrude upon your stay.

When you stay with us, you'll enjoy fresh-baked cookies, afternoon refreshments including fresh lemonade in season, and fantastic breakfasts, all intended to make your stay as warm and comfortable as possible.

Coming to Nova Scotia? Stay with us at Lunenburg Inn Bed & Breakfast.
