Lucky Lake is a secluded log cabin, on a spring fed lake, located in the famous Blue Ridge Mountains. Only a 90 minute drive north of Atlanta, situated between Blue Ridge and Ellijay, Georgia. This two bedroom, two bath cabin has a wood burning fireplace (firewood provided), and many other amenities. Relax in the master bath SPA while surrounded with candles, or enjoy the evening sunsets soaking in the Jacuzzi on the covered deck.

There is plenty to do in the local area, ranging from extreme adventure to antique shopping, apple festivals and a scenic train ride. For the more adventuresome, there is whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking and mountain bike riding. The local towns provide plenty of unique shopping and dining. Although there is plenty to do, sometimes all you want to do is simply relax. Enjoy a book and the peace and quiet, or take a walk with your dog through the woods.

The cabin is nestled in the middle of a hardwood forest adjacent to the Chattahoochee National Forest. Once you leave the short dead end gravel road, you are less than 10 minutes, by scenic winding paved roads back to Hwy 5. Once at the Highway, there are several quaint towns of the old south, less than 20 minutes away. Tour the shops at Ducktown, Copperhill, McCaysville, Mineral Bluff, Ellijay and Blue Ridge.

Hikers will enjoy the Beton-Mackaye Trail that passes within a mile of the cabin. Or they can begin the Appalachian Trail at the southern trailhead at Springer Mountain. Fisherman can try the many creeks and rivers including the Toccoa River and Fightingtown Creek. White water rafters will enjoy the class III & IV rapids on the Ocoee, site of the 1996 Olympic white water venue.

While waiting for the sun to set over the nearby mountains, you can grill out on the large deck or prepare your meal in the fully equipped kitchen. As the geese come back to their roosting sites their “HONK’s” can be heard to echo in the small dead-end valley. That’s your signal to go and sit down by the water’s edge in lawn chairs and sip a glass of wine. As the dusk turns to night, listen as each new voice is added to the evening’s song.

Later at night, relax by the fire or soak in the Jacuzzi built for four, and let the bubbling warm water erase the last vestiges of any tension or aching muscles.
