Built in 1897, the Lehrkind offers one of the state's finest examples of Queen Anne-style architecture. Gables, overhangs, bays and a large corner tower are among the Mansion's spectacular features. Enjoy the comfort of an overstuffed chair and curl up with a good book and a hot cup of tea in the family parlor. Or, if you play the piano, feel free to entertain yourself and others. There is a stereoscope as well as parlor games available for your enjoyment. Your stay at the Lehrkind Mansion includes a complete filling gourmet breakfast. You will awaken to the irrestible aroma of fresh breads and brewed coffee. Downstairs in the dining room, a tempting breakfast is ready - creative egg dishes, fresh seasonal fruits, juices, muffins, and breads. We strive to serve you and entice you with flavors you will enjoy. While the table is formal, the mood is casual. Savor unique tastes and enjoy the company of other guests. Relax in the eight-person 'theraputic' hot tub off the back deck. Soak away the aches of an active day and enjoy the multitude of stars on a clear, dark night!
The Leopold Room offers all the comforts with a high-back oak bed (queen), down comforter, plush reading chair, rocker, drop front writing desk, and dresser. Evening sun adds warmth to the room. (Private bath with claw-foot tub and shower). The Muir Rooms roll top desk may inspire the seeds of a novel, or a postcard. The tiger oak high-back bed (queen) will lull you to sleep beneath a blanket of down. A sunny southern view of the Mansion's yard is highlighted through a colorful stained-glass window. Soak in an enormous claw-foot tub in the spacious bathroom (Bath with claw-foot tub and shower shared with the Thoreau Room). Exquisite tiger oak furnishings highlight this plush Audubon Suite. Both the tower sitting room and bedroom peer into the magnificent Bridger Mountains. Furnishings include overstuffed chairs, antique rugs, fringed and stained-glass lamps, a leather trunk, and a writing desk. The ornate high-back oak bed (queen) is topped with a thick down comforter. The private bath features an oversized shower. The Carriage House is a building unto itself located only 30 feet from the Mansion. It is the perfect accommodation for a family, a group, or a couple in search of a private weekend. A vaulted ceiling, rough-sawn timbers, lodgepole pine furnishings (two queen beds), wicker furnished sitting area, and an authentic carriage, provide rustic ambiance in this large space.
