Lake Edge Cottages offers 1 and 2-bedroom cottages and the Deluxe Kawartha Suite, all smoke-free with free high speed wireless internet access, fireplaces and gorgeous lake and/or pool views.
Flexible rental periods are available in all our accommodations during the entire year to provide our guests the ability to plan stays of less than or greater than one week. All accommodations include all amenities as well as the use of non-motorized water craft in summer and snowshoes in winter. 4 of our 8 units have private hot tubs to provide you with a relaxing water massage under the stars.
We welcome couples looking for a little romance, the joy of the great outdoors, some rustic charm and a relaxing pace. We are also pet-friendly and our 12.5 acres with walking trails and pond, provide ample space for daily walks and games of fetch.
The Village of Lakefield is just five minutes away by car to the south, and has great shops and restaurants. You can also walk to Young's Point at Lock 27, for shopping, walking trails and yummy treats.
Peterborough fifteen minutes south, is the home of the World's Highest Hydraulic Lift Lock, the Canadian Canoe Museum and much more. Lake Edge Cottages' central location in southern Ontario's Kawartha Lakes Region is ideal for exploring. Or plan a day trip to Toronto, Algonquin Park, Kingston or Ottawa all 1.5 to 3 hours away!
In the summertime, every cottage rental includes the use of our rowboats, paddleboats, kayaks and canoes. You can also rent a motor boat or pontoon boat by the day or the week while you stay with us, or you can bring your own boat to launch on-site.
Katchewanooka Lake is great for swimming from shore or dock. Enjoy a captained 1 hour cruise of the lake on our pontoon boat. Relax in a lounge chair or hammock and refresh yourself in our 12 x 40 ft pool. Gather around the bonfire in the evening to star gaze and roast marshmallows and hot dogs.
In the wintertime, guests can walk, snowshoe on our trails or skate on our outdoor pond - then warm up by their fireplace. The winterized cottages have gas fireplaces for warmth and ambiance. And at night, you can snuggle up with your partner between cozy flannel sheets under a warm duvet.

A deposit of $300 per unit per week or $200 per unit for weekend stays is required at time of reservation by credit card. Balance is due upon arrival.
Cancellations:
Deposits will be refunded on cancellations received 45+ days prior to reservation, subject to a $50 cancellation fee per deposit. If the cancellation occurs within 45 to 14 days of the reservation, the deposit can be applied to another reservation made at the time of the cancellation for either a weekend or weekly stay within the next 12 months. Guests wishing to depart before their reserved date of departure will not receive a refund for unused days.
