Lake Edge Cottages Resort is on Katchewanooka Lake in the Kawarthas, just a few minutes north of Peterborough, Ontario and 1.5 hours from Toronto.

We offer cozy vacation rental cottages along the shore, for yout complete comfort and relaxation. Our cabins are non-smoking and have free high speed wifi internet access.

We offer both 1 and 2 bedroom cottages, and the Kawartha Suite. Some cottages have private outdoor hot tubs, fireplaces and decks. And all of our Ontario vacation rental cottages have fantastic views of the lake and sunset.

We welcome couples looking for a little romance, the joy of the great outdoors, some rustic charm and relaxing pace that we offer here in central Ontario. And we also welcome your pets.

You can also spend some time at your cottage, cozying up next to the fire, gazing at the sunset, watching the local wildlife, and seeing boats pass by on the lake.

The Village of Lakefield is just five minutes away by car to the south, and has great shops and restaurants. You can also walk to Young's Point at Lock 27, for shopping, walking trails and three restaurants.

Peterborough is fifteen minutes south, and is the home of the World's Highest Hydraulic Lift Lock, the Canadian Canoe Museum and much more. Lake Edge Cottage's central location in southern Ontario's Kawartha Lakes Region is ideal for exploring. Or plan a daytrip to Toronto, Niagara Falls, Algonquin Park, Kingston or Ottawa!

In the summertime, every cottage rental includes the use of our rowboats, paddleboats, kayaks and canoes. You can also rent a motor boat or pontoon boat by the day or the week while you stay with us, or you can bring your own boat to launch on-site.

Katchewanooka Lake is great for swimming from shore, dock or raft and boating and fishing for walleye, bass, perch, carp and muskie. During July & August, come to our Welcome Party, where our guests can meet one another over free drinks and snacks. Or take a Yoga Class on the deck overlooking the lake every week in July/August.

In the wintertime, guests can walk, snowshoe or skate on our twelve and a half acres - then warm up by the fireplace.  The winterized cottages have gas fireplaces for warmth and ambiance.  And at night, you can snuggle up with your partner between cozy flannel sheets under a warm duvet.
