La Villa de Mazamet, located in the heart of SW France, is a luxury bed & breakfast offering the comfort and amenities normally only found in high quality hotels.

Built in 1934, La Villa retains many of its original Art Deco features with high ceilings, parquet flooring and rooms flooded with light from tall windows overlooking the Montagne Noire (Black Mountain).  Purchased by Peter & Mark, from the UK, in 2005, an extensive renovation will be completed by Easter 2009 when they open their doors to guests

Five sumptuous bedrooms are tastefully furnished with king or twin beds, fine Egyptian cotton sheets, flat screen TV, DVD player, iPod docking station and free WiFi.  All rooms have full ensuite bathrooms with baths & drench showers, with amenities from the L’Occitane product range.

Breakfast, included in the room rate, is provided each morning either in the garden or restaurant – for those venturing out for the day a choice of picnic hampers are also available. Dinner, featuring local produce and wines, is served each evening at 8pm.

La Villa is set within a private walled garden with a swimming pool and terraces to sit and relax - reading a book, or enjoying a bottle of local wine!  Light refreshments are available throughout the day for guests who want to ‘stay at home’ or take a walk through the town of Mazamet to explore it’s history, it markets (three each week!) and the wonderful mountain scenery.

Within a short fifteen minute drive you can be in the ‘Montagne Noire’ with lakes, boating, golf, fishing, mountain biking and hiking – or if that’s too active, drive a short distance more to explore Medieval hilltop villages and vineyards.

For those wanting to make La Villa their base for exploring the area, you could not be better positioned. Mazamet is equidistant (around an hours drive) to the wonderful cities of Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne – all rich in history and culture.  For those wishing to explore further afield, the Spanish city of Barcelona, can be reached within four hours.

Mazamet is well position for international guests.  Toulouse international airport has daily flights from a number of European countries, ideal for connecting flights via London or Paris from the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.  Carcassonne, the closest airport, is served with flights from the UK, Ireland and Brussels.

For those wishing to arrive by train, Mazamet is connected by an hourly service from Toulouse which brings you 200 metres from the front door - Hertz car hire is available opposite the station. Or, for those driving through France, our website has downloadable maps of how to find us!
