La Perla, once popular with the Mexican movie star set, is a great place to stay and meet people. Many of our local friends visit La Perla's main bar or rooftop terrace for drinks in the afternoon.

La Perla is furnished with Baker, John Widdicomb, Karges, and Kindle; and decorated with a Mexican movie star flair, with Mexican accessories, priceless Mexican paintings along with Lalique, Steuben, Swarovski, Waterford, Wedgwood, Coalport and Val St. Lambert.

Each of our rooms honors one of the glamorous Movie Stars from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema:

Estrella de Teatro is our largest room, with an elegant four-poster bed, Spanish style turned columns, and two large, round topped, shuttered windows opening to a broad view of the neighborhood and Vallarta Street. This room also includes our biggest bathroom, with a shower large enough for two.

Estrella de Radio room is furnished with John Widdicomb furniture, with French doors that open onto a large private balcony that overlooks the neighborhood. This is our most romantic room, perfect for a Méxican Serenata - a full Mariachi or a simple trio. The evening Serenata always begins with the giver being present with the musicians below the balcony.

Estrella de Cine is a two room suite - a large, quiet bedroom and a sitting/TV room with French doors opening onto a small, intimate, private balcony. This suite has a view looking up to a towering neoclassical dome. The balcony is also perfect for smokers.

Each of our luxurious rooms has a queen bed, private bath with shower, LCD flat screen television, CD stereo, high-speed Internet hookup, wifi in some areas of the mansion, ceiling fan, bath robes, alarm clock, and hair dryer.

Celebrating a birthday? Las Mañanitas are given in the wee hours of the morning, 4-6 AM. Las Mañanitas are for birthdays only, and the entire house will be invited to participate in your celebration.
