CHIC, INTIMATE, STYLISH GRANADA HOTEL "
We were intrigued by Nicaragua's beauty and potential, and we decided to venture outside our comfort zone and become new hoteliers in the “land of lakes and volcanoes.” With the support of friends and family, and the approval of our cocker spaniel Emmett, we looked far and wide until we found Granada and all of its charm. La Islita is on a quiet side-street in the heart of Granada's historic center. The town's major attractions are just a short walk from our hotel. You'll find restaurants, shops, language schools and museums close-by. Each of our eight guestrooms is fully equipped with Cable Television, air conditioning, hot water, ceiling fans, wifi internet access for your laptop, and modern bathrooms. We also have two deluxe suites, with oversized private balconies. And enjoy continental breakfast daily by the fountain. La Islita's classic Granadan architecture warmly welcomes you when you arrive at our front door. As you step into our gazebo entryway, the spacious courtyard greets you with tropical flowers and the relaxing sound of water in our fountain. Special architectural features include cane ceilings, lovely doorway arches, wood columns and Granada’s colorful colonial tiles all throughout. Our rooftop terrace has some of the best views of Volcano Mombacho and the Cathedral that you'll find in Granada. We invite you to relax up there with a cool drink and a good book as the sun sets over the town's lovely terracotta rooftops. La Islita provides a stylish and intimate setting where you can enjoy gives you the opportunity to experience thethe charms of the oldest city in America. When we bough La Islita, it was nothing but a shell of a building in a quiet spot near the city center. Throughout its construction, we respected the surrounding environment as much as possible, cost permitting. We used reclaimed wood, recycled roof tiles and doors from deteriorating haciendas in the area, we designed La Islita around the gigantic mango tree which sits in the heart of the property. We also rescued some luxury furniture from the suites from a now-demolished Miami Beach hotel. Other design features, such as the wood columns, colonial floor tiles and wrought ironwork, are all the craftsmanship of local artisans. Come stay with us at La Islita: a stylish and intimate space that blends the old with the new. And explore everything Granada has to offer.
