five minutes from the Keauhou Shopping Center, offering a KTA supermarket, Long's Drug Store, post office, several restaurants and a six-plex movie house.

Kanewa Place is close to everything, yet quiet and private. Kanewa Place is a large tropical and beautiful one bedroom vacation retreat in the lower level of our home, with warm tropical breezes offering you:
a fully equipped kitchen and bath with all new appliances
a tropical dining area looking out onto the tropical gardens, if you choose to eat at "home"
a sleeping area that can accommodate up to four people. There is a king size bed in the private bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room
ceiling fans in every room, cordless telephones, cable TV, a DVD and a CD player, Hawaiian music, and a variety of movies. We offer complimentary wireless internet access
outdoor seating areas that provide for fun and relaxation under the palms and flowering trees where you can sip your morning beverages (Kona coffee, perhaps), have sunset drinks, or dine outside in the evening

Captain Cook's Monument lies on the north side of Kealakekua Bay and marks the approximate spot where he died.
Pu'u Honua 'O Honaunau (City of Refuge), was a "Place of Refuge" to provide political and criminal asylum. This is where violators of the traditional kapu (taboo) system could come to seek refuge from death. If they reached the City of Refuge they would be purified by priests and could then go back to live safely in their communities.
The Painted Church. constructed in 1875, is the oldest Catholic church on the island.
Ho'okena Beach: a beautiful beach with swaying palm trees, picnic tables, and a large sandy beach
Waipio Valley is just past the town of Honoka’a and is a sight to behold.
Volcanos National Park is a most unique and awesome National Park. The park is a 2 hour drive south Kailua Kona.
