Kauai, the Garden Island provides a beautiful and breathtaking backdrop for your visit to Kalanikai. We are located in the sleepy town of Kalaheo on the south side of Kauai. Sitting above the valleys that spill into the ocean about five miles away, our retreat from all things hectic awaits you. Extensive and lush landscaping provides you the privacy and serenity to drop all preconceived notions as well as your clothes. Kalanikai is a clothing optional guesthouse where you can relax naturally at poolside or hot tub, in your suite or apartment, amongst the landscape or on your lanai and anywhere in between. We offer four units, The Kahuna and Kipu Master Suites, the Kainoe Apartment suite, and the new Okole Cabana. Each unit has its own private bath and is uniquely decorated to itself. The new Okole Cabana suite combines the adventure of camping with most of the amenities of our advertised suites. Nestled on a hillside surrounded by fruit trees and coffee plants, with the sound of the evening rains on the cabana. The privacy of your own little space, yet steps away from the outdoor hot showers, hot tubs and pool. If you have this sense of adventure you will absolutely love the cabana suite. If you have neutral feelings for upscale camping, you will enjoy your new experience. If you disdain camping, our new suite will be better left for those that have that sense of wonderment and adventure. The Okole cabana suite is a 10 x 20 tented unit with nine foot high pitched ceilings, screened mesh windows, half wall around the perimeter with electrical outlets for our refrigerator, microwave, stereo, lamps and your electrical items you bring along The cabana suite does not have a shower attached to itself, but we have two outdoor hot showers just steps away where you can shower with nothing but sky or plants above you. You outdoor shower aficionados know the exhilaration of that freedom. On evenings when I have no guests in the cabana, I opt to spend the night, snuggled up with my comforter, enjoying the smells and sounds of the evening as they waft through the cabana. A 50% deposit is required to confirm reservation. Cancellations must be made in writing 30 days prior to reservation date and will be charged 15% fee. For cancellations made less than 30 days prior to reservation date deposit is non-refundable. Although it's best to secure your reservation in advance, we do honor last minute requests when available.
