" HISTORIC SHARPSBURG B&B "
We offer five lovingly-restored guest rooms, aand we're an easy walk to fine dining, the deli, and the Antietam Battlefield. Guests can visit 4 national parks that are nearby: Harpers Ferry, Antietam, the C&O Canal, and the Appalachian Trail, all within 12 miles of our B&B Inn. We also offer bicycles for guests to explore our local parks and country roads. Joanne serves a large, multi-course breakfast every morning. We grow our own flowers and much of the herbs and produce we use at the B&B, including both strawberries and peaches in season. The Inn is in the Blue Ridge of Western Maryland. Originally founded in 1763, Sharpsburg is known for the Antietam Civil War Battlefield, the best preserved of all Civil War sites. Many of Sharpsburg's houses and churches, including the Jacob Rohrbach Inn, were damaged during the battle, and a number of the local buildings still show their scars. The 184 mile Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Park trail passes Sharpsburg, and, Harpers Ferry National Park is only 12 miles away down the old "John Brown Road". The Sharpsburg area has many great restaurants and interesting boutique shops. Nearby Shepherdstown, West Virginia, just across the river, is home to Shepherd University, which hosts many cultural events. Berkeley Springs, Skyline Drive and the Shenandoah National Park are all just an hour away by beautiful country road. Make the Jacob Rohrbach Inn Bed & Breakfast your home away from home, and enjoy the local countryside and explore the Mid-Atlantic. And at the end of the day, you'll return to a comfortable haven - come stay with us in beautiful Sharpsburg, Maryland.
