The Ink House sits among the vineyards, and is close to some of Napa's best wineries and restaurants - stay at the Ink House and go back to an era long past, but with all the modern conveniences.
Originally built in 1884 by Theron H. Ink, our grand and historic landmark Napa Valley home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Here at his "Helios Ranch", Ink, a true pioneer, lived with his family and presided over many Napa Valley ventures.
This beautiful Italianate Victorian style home has two first floor parlors, complete with antiques, fireplace, pump organ, crystal chandeliers and original stained glass.
Our Napa estate sits on four acres of wide lawns, gardens, a petite sirah vineyard, olive orchards, and even an historic 1884 barn and carriage house.
Our guest bedrooms are on the second floor, and each room offers a beautiful vineyard view, including our Victorian gardens and trees that were here long before the house was built.
There's a small parlor on the second floor, as well.
Each of our guest rooms has a queen or king bed, as well as a private full ensuite bath. The rooms are all decorated in French, English, American, Georgian, Eastlake and Italian antiques and family heirlooms.
Each room also has central a/c and heat for your comfort, as well as wifi access. Our larger rooms also have flat screen televisions and mini-bar refrigerators.
Our guest rooms vary in size and amenities - reflected in their rates.
The Ink House is filled with our collection of distinctive, original art. The house also includes many wonderful antiques, collectibles and heirloom pieces that the Innkeepers hope you will enjoy.
Our Napa ned and breakfast also includes a glass-enclosed observatory at the top of the home, fifty feet above ground level, with a 360 degree sweeping panoramic vista of the surrounding vineyards and hillsides. Lovely, Scottish stained-glass windows enhance the 12 x 20 foot observatory where you can read, sip wine, nap, watch the sunset or the hot air balloons float by in the early morning.
Your stay will include a full gourmet breakfast every morning, which may include everything from baked pears with cream to our Chef Innkeeper's signature dish "Bella Torta". We also include unique hot entrees, as well as a variety of beverages, fresh baked breads, cinnamon buns, and muffins accompany each breakfast.
We also provide wine and snacks in the late afternoon. Many afternoons, the Ink House hosts visiting wine makers, who will pour for you and share some of their wine-making secrets. Brandy and ports are available for our guests to enjoy, too.
For your relaxation, The Ink House also has a full wrap-around verandah, pool table (surrounded by the stone walls of our basement), bicycles for guest use, video library, picnic table and garden swing.
