GOLD COUNTRY HOTEL & THE COUNTY'S FAVORITE DINING
When you visit the Imperial Hotel in the Amador Wine Country, you'll feel like you stepped back in time to 1879, when the Gold Rush was in full swing.
Amador City used to be a busy mine town when the Imperial Hotel first opened its doors to prosperous Victorian hotel guests. Today the miners may be gone, but Amador City still has its historic charm. And the wonderfully restored Imperial Hotel offers our guests a warm and gracious welcome.
The Imperial Hotel is "elegant and whimsical", with a "rich, seductive opulence". Time may not stop here, but it does slow down. Join our local residents over cocktails in the Oasis Bar, or sip a glass of wine or cup of tea on the wide balcony overlooking the town. You can also relax and enjoy a book or magazine from the hotel library.
Spend an afternoon visiting some of the many award-winning but friendly small wineries in Amador Wine Country: the Shenandoah Valley and Fair Play. Or explore the antique and specialty shops in Amador City and Sutter Creek.
At night, come back to the hotel and enjoy our regionally acclaimed restaurant for a relaxing dinner made with fresh, locally grown produce, Niman ranch meats and sustainably harvested seafood.
After dinner, return to your beautiful, air-conditioned room and take a long bath. There will be a full gourmet breakfast waiting for you between 8 and 10 the next the morning.
The Imperial Hotel has nine guestrooms -- six on the second floor of the original 1879 hotel building and three large luxury suites in a nearby 1930's garden cottage on a hill that overlooks Amador City.
The rooms in the hotel all have high ceilings, beautiful original brick walls and large, working windows overlooking the town.
The three suites in the cottage have their own private entrances, whirlpool jacuzzi tubs for two, gas/electric fireplaces and in-room refrigerators. Each room also includes a hair dryer, luxury amenities and all-cotton linens; luxurious terrycloth robes are also included.
There are no telephones or televisions in our rooms, but they do have CD players.
We also have two sets of adjoining rooms: Rooms 3 and 5, and Rooms 2 and 4. Room 1 has a pull-out couch that can accommodate a child or small adult. Rooms 3, 6 and 7 can accommodate an extra roll-away bed.
The hotel has its own parking lot, and we offer free wifi internet access in the hotel.
Looking for an escape to the California Gold Country? Come stay with us at the Imperial Hotel, and spend a romantic weekend or week exploring the wine country.
