The House on McGill is a charming, beautifully restored Victorian townhome on a quiet side street in Toronto's gay village. Built in 1890, our private bed and breakfast is located on q tranquil, shaded streetin the midst of busy, metropolitan Toronto.

Renovations to the property were finished in 1996, and we were careful to retain the existing woodwork, stained glass features, antique fixtures and historic character. We also added modern amenities in period reproductions to complement the historic nature of the building.

The House on McGill is a small, intimate guest house offering five air conditioned guestrooms sharing two baths, and a sixth, the White room, with a private bathroom.

Each of our guestrooms is decorated with color as a theme. Some of our guestrooms have a bright, south facing view of the financial district skyscrapers, and others have views of our shady, quiet garden.

The property features high ceilings, refinished oversized pine baseboards and handrails, gorgeous maple hardwood floors and wood wainscotting. There's a friendly, quiet cat in residence, too: Jessie roams the house visiting and positions herself in the reception room to greet guests.

Our guests enjoy and share our ground floor, first and second floor areas. Our garden deck is also open to guests during the warmer months. Your host, Dave lives on the third floor, and is available for questions, recommendations and conversation.

We promise to provide a relaxing turn-of-the century expericned in our Canadian merchant class home - you'll be able to mingle with our other guests if you choose. The gay village and all of the downtown district is just outside our door.

We're also just a short walk from the theatre district, shopping at the 300 shop Eaton Centre, Yonge St. shopping, the financial district and many other restaurants, sports facilities, galleries museums bars and clubs.
