Hotel Mediterrane, a small hotel on the great Bay of La Paz, expresses the personalities of its creators, Norbert and Saul. In a decade, the Swiss and Mexican partners have transformed an abandoned house into sunlit studio suites gathered round a palm fringed courtyard.

As distant as the world may seem, guests of the Mediterrane are never out of touch. The hotel offers free access to the internet on the hotel computer and trough the wi-fi hotspot on your own laptop. Enjoy the extensive video library or get the latest news on cable TV.

You might prefer though to explore colorful La Paz or use one of our kayaks to get the perspective from the La Paz bay, the biggest bay in the Sea of Cortez; while at that, look out for dolphins or watch the variety of birds populating the Mogote, a sandy peninsula just minutes from the city.

It is a haven for high adventure.....a resting place after a kayak voyage to the island of Espiritu Santo... a sanctuary after a day of scuba diving, of fishing, or of whale watching on the primordial lagoons of Baja's Pacific coast.

The Mediterrane's rooftop terrace overlooks the Malecon, the waterfront promenade where the city greets the day, and people gather to watch spectacular sunsets. The result is pure magic, pure Baja.

The rooms reflect our inspiration by the Greek island Mykonos and the Mexican tradition. All the rooms are very tranquil and face our little oasis with palms, citrus, bougainvillea and of course cacti. They are decorated with original art by George Hitchcock and offer a seating area, private toilet/shower, TV/VCR, cable TV, radio with alarm clock (Santorini and Corfu with CD player), refrigerator, quiet individually controlled air conditioning (mini split system) and wireless access to the internet with your notebook.
