The Historic Scanlan House is one of the oldest operating bed and Breakfast in Lanesboro (and the state of Minnesota) - we've been welcoming guests for more than twenty-three years. Our home was built in 1889, and is a beautiful Queen Anne Victorian, with original woodwork, stunning stained glass windows, and Victorian antiques and reproductions throughout the property.

We have restored this magnificent home, and continue renovations and additions.

While you are here, you will enjoy our tantalizing full gourmet breakfast that is served daily and included with your room rate.

Each guest room at the Historic Scanlan House is decorated with fine linens, lace, and beautiful period antique furniture.

In the spring and summertime, wander through our Victorian flower gardens, or relax on a bench and read a great book. Or spend a romantic afternoon with someone you love.

There are many other great activites in and around Lanesboro, including theater, museums, local tours, shopping and fine dining.

You'll also find the Root River Trail, our most popular attraction - over seventy miles of paved bike trails following the Root River through the area's rolling bluffs. You can also canoe down the Root River, a seventy four mile stretch that's also perfect for inner tubing.
