Highlands Resort offers a relaxing and peaceful gay and lesbian (straight-friendly) retreat - a jewel under the redwoods! Situated in the Russian River Wine Country just a short walk to the town of Guerneville, and just an hour and a half from San Francisco and the Bay Area, the Highlands offers private cabins, many with fireplaces, nestled in amongst the flowers and trees.

Relax in our secluded spa, take a swim, or enjoy a massage. You'll be glad you pampered yourself here at our resort!

A Little History - The Highlands has been around since the early 1920's, the current cabins date from the early 1940's and are rustic (no phones, TV or radios). They are comfortably furnished and offer a glimpse back in time.

We are located on 3 acres with mature redwood trees and gardens. It is a short walk to restaurants and bars (about 4 blocks).

We allow well behaved pets in several of our cabins. There is an extra charge and some additional rules so call or e-mail and make arrangements in advance.

Since we allow nude sunbathing at our pool and hot tub, you may not wish to bring your children to the resort. A really great place for folks with children are Creekside Inn & Resort (good pool/toys for kids) or Fern Grove Cottages.

The Highlands Resort Offers the following:

• Private Cabins and Rooms with Full and Queen size beds. Many with small refrigerators and coffee-makers.
• Secluded outdoor Spa Tub, surrounded by redwoods (nudity permitted).
• Large outdoor Swimming Pool in a garden setting (nudity permitted).
• Barbecue and picnic area.
• Guest Lounge with TV and VCR, games, books and a baby grand piano (with a fairly eclectic collection of sheet music).
• Massage is available by appointment (extra charge) and in the warmer months takes place outdoors in the center of a grove of redwood trees.)
• Continental breakfast served daily consisting of coffee, tea, fruit, juice and:
  Monday - Friday we serve homemade granola (how California of us!).
  Saturday, Sunday and Holidays we serve homemade muffins.
• Tent camping in our meadow is available in the summer months (B.Y.O.Tent).
• Day use of the resort is available each day from 10am until 6pm for a small fee.
