Shelburne is also home to the world-renowned 45-acre Shelburne Museum with its 18 period buildings and beautifully landscaped grounds. A little over a mile away is Shelburne Farms, originally designed as a model agricultural estate in the same year as the Inn, by Dr. William Seward Webb and Lila Vanderbilt Webb. Vermont products and, in season, fresh local ingredients make breakfast here a treat, with a special hot entree every day. Guests are invited to share tea in the living room or on the porch each afternoon.afternoon. Inside the main house are five sleeping rooms; the luxurious carriage barn has four. There are two living rooms for reading, chatting, or just relaxing in overstuffed chairs. Each guest room is uniquely decorated with a mix of period furnishings, comfortable beds, plush linens, and plenty of pillows. Each has a sunny view of Shelburne Village and some baths have claw-foot tubs and pedestal sinks. All nine rooms have private baths, and all are air-conditioned and have in-room connections for telephones and cable television, if desired. All have a cozy chair for reading and most have special armoires and period pieces chosen just for that room. Four rooms have king sized beds (or twins) and five have queens.
