 Welcome to Hamanassett Bed and Breakfast, with the best of yesterday and today combined for your relaxation and enjoyment.
When you walk into our Grand Hall, you'll feel like you've stepped back into another time, when guests were sussounded by a sense of style and elegance. But don't be fooled - we're very casual, and we encourage our guests to slip out of their shoes and get comfortable.
Our historic Pennsylvania bed and breakfast, originally built in 1856 and enlarged in the late 19th century by the famous architect Charles Barton Keen, is close to forests, gardens, and great walking trails.
Chester Heights is in the Brandywine Valley, about twenty miles southwest of Philadelphia, but close to all the great attractions the Brandywine Valley has to offer, including:
- Longwood Gardens
- Brandywine River Museum
- Nemours Mansion
- Hagley and Brandywine Valley Wineries
- Valley Forge
- Downtown Philadelphia
And if you enjoy birdwatching, we're just 20 minutes from the Heinz National Wildlife Refuge, and we're close to Ridley Creek State Park, Tyler Arboretum, and Scott Arboretum.
Each of our guestrooms has a king or queen bed, ensuite baths, hardwood floors, luxurious bathrobes, TV and VCR, window a/c, hair drier, iron, and clock radio with CD Player and iPod docking.
We also offer secure off-street parking, and free snacks, sodas and bottled water. There's also a guest pantry with refrigerator, microwave and ice machine on the second floor.

POLICIES

| Reservations: |
Most weekends require a two night minimum. Sunday night is not considered a weekend night and may be booked for a single night unless a holiday falls on it. Holidays and special event weekends may require a longer stay or have a longer cancellation period. Please call if you require a single night on a weekend as sometimes we are able to accommodate this.

| Deposit: |
Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of payment in full for stays of two nights or less, or 50% of your total for stays of three or more nights. You may pay with a personal check, traveler's checks, cash or major credit card at the time of booking. Please consider your reservation as final when it is made.

| Cancellation: |
Deposits are refundable, less a service fee per night per room, if cancellation or rescheduling is made 10 days prior to your arrival. Cancellations or rescheduling made with less than 10 days notice will receive a refund only if we are able to book your room less the per night cancellation or rescheduling fee. The carriage house has a 30 day cancellation period and a 10% of total cancellation fee. Please be assured we will do everything possible to rebook it. There is no refund for shortened stays.

3-7 pm. Arrangements can be made for later check in with advance notice.

| Check-Out: |
11 am for all rooms except the Devon and Inverness rooms where we give you an extra hour and ask you to check out by noon.

| Children: |
6-12 can be accommodated in the Carriage House.
|
| Pets: |
Dogs can be accommodated in the Carriage House or The Cambridge in the main house. If you would like to bring your dog as a guest, please call and speak with us.. There is an additional per night per dog cleaning fee for dogs. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the beds.

| Smoking: |
Because of the age of the house, and out of courtesy to our other guests, there is no smoking within the house. Considerate smokers may smoke on the front loggia and on the grounds. Fire Marshall does not allow open fires such as candles or incense in the bedrooms. We hope you will respect this rule, if not you will be charged an extra day's fee to give us time to clean and air out the room.
