The Green House Inn is a small historic inn, guesthouse, bed & breakfast in a beautiful setting in the midst of downtown/uptown New Orleans. Built in 1840 as a typical New Orleans Greek Revival side hall antibellum house, the Inn has 6 intimate guestrooms with deluxe amenities. Our lush grounds are an unbelievable tropical paradise, including a unique "tree-shaped" swimming pool, with waterfalls, fiber optic lighting, an oversized Jacuzzi-styled hot tub that overflows into the pool - all surrounded by hundreds of plants found only in the tropics.
Centrally located between downtown and uptown New Orleans. It is in the Lower Garden District, written up as the hippest place in America to live, and adjacent to the Warehouse/Arts District. The French Quarter is only 12 walkable blocks away and St. Charles Avenue and the streetcar is even closer at only 3 blocks away. We are the closest B&B to the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.
The Rooms:
Each guestroom features dreamy king-size beds with deluxe mattresses, fine linens, towels, and extra comfy pillows. All rooms have private baths with showers (one has a tub), color TV with cable, VCRs, mini-refrigerators, clock radios with CD player, ceiling fans, central air conditioning and heat, hardwood floors, direct dial phones with modem jacks, and free wireless internet throughout the house and grounds. Three guestrooms are on the first floor and three are on the second floor (there is no elevator).
The Amenities:
We serve a deluxe continental breakfast each morning in the dining room or you are welcome to take it outside and enjoy it by the pool in our tropical garden. Breakfast includes Louisiana coffee, tea, orange juice, milk, yogurt, various cereals, croissants, muffins, and fresh fruit.
In addition, our heated year-round clothing optional tropical pool, patio, hot tub, and gardens are open 24 hours a day to guests staying on premises. We offer free off-street fenced in parking, subject to availability, with limited in and out access. Our workout room with free weights and an exercise bike will complement your fitness needs during your stay. A fax machine and copier are on premises.
Our best kept secret - concierge services: Your innkeeper is a life-long resident of this area. He resides on premises and acts as your full-time concierge - making tour suggestions, restaurant recommendations and other sightseeing information. Contact the Inn in advance, and he can make dinner and tour reservations. Your innkeeper makes your stay in New Orleans a truly enjoyable experience. He possesses a wealth of knowledge about the area; and is the main reason that guests return year after year and become friends. All rates are either single or double occupancy, and any taxes or city fees are extra. Third and fourth persons sharing the same room incurs an additional $25.00 per person, per night. Rates are subject to availability and to change without notice. Please consult us for exact room prices.
Deposits:
Advanced reservation required. Either fill out our reservation form online or call us toll free at 800-966-1303. One night's deposit is required to secure your reservation. Payment is due on arrival.
Cancellations:
Our cancellation period is normally 14 days before arrival; however, for certain heavily-booked periods and special events, it may be 30-90 days; for special events it is non-refundable. All group bookings of 3 or more rooms require a 1/3 deposit and the balance due 90 days prior to arrival. No refund after final payment. There is a $25.00 non-refundable booking/cancellation fee on all bookings. There is no refund for early departures.
